Experimental Build Machining

We have been collaborating with our machining specialist (Charles) to mill each of our structural components. The Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings that we have developed for our experimental build components are used during this process. The dimensions for each component are used to generate a program that the mill can then use to precisely machine our components to the given specifications.

Once we have all of our components machined we can begin a final assembly of our prototype that will be shown off at Engineering Expo! This assembly will integrate the electrical circuitry to run the pump and linear actuators, as well as the mechanical components that will generate the BID action. Stay tuned for more updates as we head into the home stretch before Engineering Expo!
