This is the space for all information and updates on the University of Idaho NASA SPOCS Project!

INNOVATING EXPERIMENTAL BUILD FOR IMPLEMENTATION IN MICROGRAVITY
As a senior design capstone project, our team is tasked with designing and building an experiment that will be successfully conducted in microgravity. This poses challenges due to many natural phenomena that do not behave the same in space as they do on Earth!
PUSHING LIMITS OF THE EFFICACY OF BACTERIAL RESISTANCE ON THE ISS
With the goal of furthering human space flight, we have designed an experiment that will test two different bacteria resistant polymers in microgravity on the International Space Station. These polymers have proven resistivity in Earth based studies, but it is yet to be determined in space!
DRIVING FORWARD THINKING WITH THE MINDS OF TOMORROW
Our team will be collaborating with the students of Russell Elementary, based in Moscow, ID. The students will be actively involved in Earth based studies focused on our polymers’ performance! Our goal is to engage students with a real world problem that will encourage their future interest in STEM careers!
